- Why are we launching a campus-wide performance management program?

- To align all Rice School and Departments to the University's Vision, Mission and Goals.
- To standardize performance management system across the organization.

Now, but the official kickoff is July 1, 2023
- As a supervisor, what will I be expected to do during this process?

Communicate with your employees. The basis of this new system will be on goal creation. Help your employees create goals and action plans. Then follow-up with your employees on their progress. Finally, evaluate your employees on their performance over the course of the year.

In concert with your supervisor, create annual goals and action plans. Follow-up with your supervisor.

- Will there be training that will hep me set goals?

Yes, training will begin in April 2023.
- Will there be tools and resources to help me with the process?

Yes, those tools and resources will be posted here.
- Our department already uses a form. Can we continue to use it?

- Will this program replace our current performance management initiatives?

- How will this be tied to pay raises?

It will not be explicitly tied to pay raises, but supervisors can use the information when making pay and bidget decisions. We encourage supervisors to use the compensation guidelines link.
